Hi Diu,

everything went well, we visited very interesting places and our guide Than, an Italian speaker, proved to be competent.
If we can give an advice, the site of Sri Ksetra in Pyay, could be skipped and dedicate this time to get more in touch with the peasant population that lives and works in the countryside surrounding the site itself. Furthermore, Sri Ksetra’s visit was made with the van. We did not use the bullock cart ride because it had been moved for time reasons from the day before to the following morning, but the related cart reservation had not been moved. Note that we have paid the ox cart trip.
Another suggestion concerns the visit to the numerous Stupa and Buddhist Temples, which as we know must be done completely barefoot, without stockings. Here, in addition to creating hygiene problems, it also creates very dangerous situations when it rains and when ceramic tile floors become slippery at risk of falling. Not only did one of us fall from a staircase on the first day of the tour, but we also saw tourists with knee injuries and with extensive use of crutches as a hangover. All this must be an advise for your customers.
Last point, more general, we suggest greater flexibility in the carrying out of the journey, both to give space for more contact with the Burmese people, and to have more time to visit and frequent the markets of the different cities, and also to make journeys on foot between one place and the other without using always the van.

Giang – we just got back from 2 weeks in Thailand and Myanmar. I just wanted to let you know that everything in Myanmar was wonderful. Your arrangements were among the best we have ever experienced on a tour. The guides were great. They met us on time at airports and were very friendly. I would especially recommend the guide in Bagan- San- who was extremely knowledgeable about the temples and history. Also, the hotels were superb- Bagan and Inle Lake were truly beautiful. I would definitely you use again if we return to Asia.

What can I say – you did it again (!)
We had a wonderful time .
Everything went like clockwork (flights , hotels , etc.) and we really had a great time.
The hotel we stayed in Gangtey was remarkable – a very unique & great experience.
The only problem we had was with hotel dhensa in punakha.
The room smelt of sewer , the air conditioner did not work ,and the food was terrible.
Luckily for us you handled the matter for us and organized a dinner in a local restaurant.
I am so glad to have met you and I do hope to take advantage of your services in the future.

We returned from our trip very happy and we would like to thank you again for all you did for us. Everything was so well organized thanks to you, everyone was taking such good care of us and we enjoyed the trip very much. Our guides in all places were very good and showed us a lot.
They were very, very helpful in all aspects. We liked very much all hotels you reserved for us (especially the Resort at Inle Lake). It was so good and convenient to be met at the airport by a guide and taken to the hotel.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but we’ve been really busy since returning after our FANTASTIC 3 week tour through Myanmar!

Both Bea and I had a wonderful time in that magic country and we want to thank you, your company, Ciao Asia Travel/Myanmar Tours and your local company who handled everything in Myanmar, for our absolutely wonderful, hassle free, extremely well organized holiday in Myanmar.

We were always met on time at the airport or dock by your friendly staff and our compliments to the great tour guides, for the vehicles supplied, to the excellent drivers (and boat driver at Lake Inle), for the great in-country flights and the beautiful hotels and service we found in them! The endless supply of ice cold water and cleaning towels by the drivers was always appreciated!

Many thanks to all the guides: their English was excellent, their knowledge of the local history, sights, and upcoming events was terrific. They were all friendly and extremely helpful, very flexible to our wants and, as I said very knowledgeable. They all new the best times to visit sights, mostly avoiding heavier tourist traffic and were keen to show us all the great temples, monasteries, pagodas, stupas, local markets, villages, countryside and small manufacturers in their areas. We never missed a sight on our itinerary, but often, with their suggestion, managed to change dates at bit, in order to see a special event, or to avoid large crowds.

I am now back in the UK, after my lovely 14 night trip to Myanmar, followed by some time in Kuala Lumpur. I did not fill in the standard feedback form before I left, so I wish to give you some feedback via this email.

I would like to say how very pleased I was with all the arrangements and accommodation etc that you organised. Everything went very smoothly with all the guides being there to meet me, and the standard for 3 star hotels was excellent throughout my journey.

I had a wonderful holiday overall, and could not find any faults with the arrangements. All the 4 guides (and drivers) were excellent in their different ways, being both very accommodating of any requests and also very informative wherever we travelled. The cars used were very good, I was regularly provided with bottled water (very much appreciated), and all the lunches were carefully organised, and most enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed ALL the various trips out from the hotels, and it is difficult to differentiate between them.. Not surprisingly, I particularly enjoyed being on Inle Lake, and touring around there, it was breathtaking. The guides naturally were using English as a second language, and I appreciate that it is sometimes not easy for them to explain things, but they were very good communicators, and I had a very good relationship with each of them in different ways – even though their guiding experience ranged from over 20 years to less than 1, I enjoyed being with all of them, and they each tried their best to make the tour memorable, which it certainly was for me.

Overall I had a wonderful time in Myanmar, and would thoroughly recommend your services to anyone wishing to go on a small group tour. Thank you once again for making it such a memorable holiday for me.

With very best wishes, it was a shame that we ourselves were not able to meet, but your kindness and support will be long remembered.

I am just contacting you to say a BIG THANK YOU for organising our holiday in Nepal. 🙂 As before, you did a fantastic job of arranging every detail which really helped us to relax and enjoy the holiday. The coordinator in Nepal, Nadesh was really well organised and was in constant contact with the guides, drivers and hotels etc to help make sure everything ran smoothly which it did. We were really grateful for him. Please thank him very much for all his help.

Mr Dukie (Duky)? in Chitwan National Park? He is a really kind and considerate guide. He was always so concerned to make sure we were OK and happy. He is also very knowledgeable about all the subject he covered.

Mr Avass in Kathmandu is extremely knowledgeable about his subjects too. He was our first guide and he made us feel welcome, comfortable and safe. He was also very kind and considerate

Mr Krishnan in Pokhara. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. No request was too much for him. He was very good.

We particularly enjoyed the Fishtail Lodge Hotel. The views of the lake was fantastic and it was extremely peaceful being on the lake.

We are currently trying to decide on our next venture 🙂 We are trying to decide if we should go to India or the Philippines for our next holiday in 2018 and I will contact you for quotes once we have decided.

I don’t know very much about India so need to research the sites to see and the best area to stay in.

Hi Diu,

We are back. In short, the trip was very well-organized. I have traveled to maybe 45 countries and this was one of my best trips ever. Let me give some specific feedback:

1) Accommodations: we were very happy with all the hotels but the Treasure Resort in Bagan was very special and the Amata Garden Resort was fantastic. Perhaps our view was changed because the places were mostly empty in the off season – but these two places were gems. They all offered very good breakfasts for us.
2) Tour Guides: All the guides were adequate and we never felt rushed. They were well-organized and polite. They allowed us to change our plan when needed. The guide in Inle Lake was particularly good.
3) Drivers: The drivers were all exceptionally good. They were safe, considerate, and kind.
4) Sites: Though we were glad to see Yangon, one day there was enough for us. Inle Lake surprised us as it was our favorite spot (in part because the hotel was exceptional).
5) Workshops: I don’t usually like stops that involve shopping. However, all the stops we had (lacquer ware, cigar making, goldsmiths, weaving, …) were really interesting.

Best part of the trip – the Myanmar people. I will strongly recommend this trip to others.
