Mandalay – Mingun – Ava Cultural Tour

Meet our guide and driver at your hotel then Zeycho vegetable market before transferring to jetty to join local boat trip upstream on the Ayeyarwady River from Mandalay to Mingun (11 Km, about one hour). Arrive Mingun and start visit the Mingun Bell, Mingun Bell which weighs more than 87 tons and is more than 3.7 meters tall. This is the world’s largest uncracked bell. Continue to the beautiful Hsinbyume (Ma Thein Tan) Pagoda, a white-washed temple built to resemble Mount Meru. And the unfinished, mighty Mingun Pagoda (built to be the world’s biggest).

After lunch, drive towards the former royal capital of Innwa (Ava) located on an island between the Ayeyarwady and the Myitnge Rivers. Visit Inwa by charming horse-drawn carriage pass through the ancient city walls to visit a brick and continue visit to the impressive wooden monastery of Maha Aungmye Bonzan, built of brick and stucco as well as the Bargayar Monastery, famous for its ornate woodcarvings and teak posts (also known as Ok Kyaung). Visit to the Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace building nicknamed "leaning tower of Ava", the climb to the top offers lovely views over river. After that, drive back to Mandalay. Tour ends.
