Close to Shwesandaw Pagoda stands Lawkahteikpan Temple – a small but interesting Middle period gu (cave) containing excellent frescoes and inscriptions in both Burmese and Mon. Lawkahteikpan means “the adorned tip of the world”. It was built by King Alaungsithu, the successor of Kyanzittha.
